Our Story

Hewitt Meats was established in 1974 by Jim Hewitt. It started off as a butchers shop on the family farm but was relocated in 1985 to its present site where it acquired its EC licence & began processing & exporting prime beef.

Over the next almost 5 decades (50 years), through constant commitment & dedication the business has developed into processing over 400,000 kg of beef on a weekly basis & exporting to the UK, Europe, Canada & the far east

In 2016 the business decided to take control of our supply chain & purchased the abattoir Primestock Meats (UK(NI) 9080 EC). Over the next 5 years through constant investment & innovation the site has been totally transformed & is now capable of processing 1,000 cattle on a weekly basis.

Even though the business has been totally transformed from its humble beginnings the company’s ethos have remained the same, that our customers are paramount.
